Default 3 lessons learned

Hi All,
I learned 3 lessons today. Lesson 1- Listen to what the experienced carvers on here have to say. Lesson 2- Don't try to carve when you're too tired. Lesson 3- Always, ALWAYS wear a carving glove!.
Here's the story. I had just got home from a weekend trip, was tired, but wanted to work a little on a carving to relax a while. Since I do listen at least a little, I always wear my carving glove. I was working on an eye on a small woodspirit, and slipped. If I hadn't had the glove on, I know I would have needed stiches, as is, just a little nick and a bandaid.
Folks, listen when you're told to wear that glove!!!!!!!

Yup, always wear the glove!!! I put my glove and thumb guard on top of my tools to remind me to put it on before I pick up a tool. Glad you didn't hurt yourself too badly.
