Default 1st carvings

I finally have gotten some pics of my 1st carvings. I started in january , the 1st 2 are from WCM and the last is from GENES' tutorial on carving a hillbilly. I think they are getting better ,slowly. BTW the first 2 are just pine 2x2 & 1x1 1/2 ,and the last is 1x1 x5 basswood . My painting needs work (so much to learn) and I'm trying . Thanks Gene and thanks every one for looking. JIM

Nice carvings, Jim. Most everyone thins their paints down to more of a wash. I found that is the best way from personal experience. Keep the chips flying and thanks for sharing.

Jim,
I like what you have done here. Keep up the good work. As Big Ed said try thinning the paint a little and I think you will find that you will like it better. The main thing is, are you having?

Safe Carving and God Bless,

Mark

Good job for your first carvings.
Basswood is much easier to carve.
