Default Yet another remake of old pattern

Seems like I'm getting so old and feeble minded I can't come up with a new pattern so I pulled out another old one, 1997 I think, and re-did it. It's in the Holiday Album on Picture Trail.

Just beautiful as usual. A question, are all the little animals hand carved? A really great job.

Steve, yes, I carved all the animals, the fruit and veggies, the birds, everything from basswood.
Well, I did 'cheat' on the flying bird wings.... those are brass and some of the fruit leaves are brass because the entire piece has to be packed and shipped. The wings are supported by heavy wire that run under each wing and through the bird's body and the wings are inserted into slots created by my woodburner.
It makes for a fairly sturdy piece that survives shipment via USPS.

Nancy,

Beautiful job. Do you paint your own work? If so, I'd say you're an accomplished artist in two mediums. It's very inspiring when people share their work.

Wow, again! Nancy that may be a 're-done' pattern, but wherever that goes it is still an original! You never cease to amaze me with your Santas and all the trappings.

Nancy, that is the best yet! One question also... how do you attach all those little animals? Surely you don't peg all of them. What type of glue do you use? I saw this your carving of this Santa in the magazine in 1997 ... I think, and it blew my mind.. You rated a whole page in the magazine... you go girl!

Fantastic carving!!

You've done more with the back of the piece than most do to the front side of their carving!

I love the half eaten apple next to the deer (I know....I'm strange)
