Your carving ability doesn't surprise me. I especially like the cloth like look of the hat. Are you going to paint his eyes? or are you done?

I'm done with it. I started working on a bark version this after noon. I want to try finishing it with some wax that Art Olver gave me. I like the way he finishes his carvings also

Great job Elwood! I started one from the magazine article but held off finishing until I got the DVD Mark is selling. It is very very good. I also have seen Mark's work and pictures are just not as good as the actual carving. I am lucky enough to own two of his carvings!

I've been hesitating to try my hand at Mark's ornament and seeing how well yours turned out definitely inspires a person to want to carve one. Thanks for sharing.
