Default Woody01 Santa

Nancy G,

I have not been doing much carving lately, but here is one I completed this past May. I have one more ready for painting. Thanks for the big buildup.

Woody01

I think I got it.

Woody,
Great Santa. Great Piant. Lots of expression in the face. Looks like you take a lot of time finishing. I used to sand all my coats smooth but it seems like the more knife mark facetts I left in a santa they always sold better than the ones I sanded. Any one that is a true collector of santas all seem to go for that color of blue. I think it was in Rick Butz's book that a small hand carved santa was very popular gift in the Black Forest of Germany and the cerialian Blue was the tradidonal coat color.

Woody,

Great carving like how the beard is and the eyes are looking to the side at you.

Woody - You said you hadn't been carving much lately ... I hope that means you've been busy with other fun stuff, not that you haven't been feeling well.

I went digging through some of my photos and found this one of a display of Woody's Santas at a gallery show a couple of yers ago.

Great job Woody I love the blue santa. It is nice to see the old boy in another color other than red. Gives him a really soft look. Very well done great painting also.
