Default "Wood Carving Illustrated" Ornaments

Has anyone else tackled the ornaments in the current issue of Wood Carvers Illustrated, Fall 2003, page 77...? Its fun, good practise, fast, Our carving club in Niagara Falls is doing the Santa, I might have 2 hrs into mine. We try to do something from every issue, good luck...Coffeeman

Yes I have, The Santa's back is a Christmas tree. My little bride wants more of them. The little Grandaught likes the smiling/sad face snowman, one side he is smiling and the out a sad face(sun shining). And I like the little nome or niesses(sp) on. So, It looks like more of them will be carved. Enjoying carving them. A little different than a one sided carving but wanted something that id it twirled any, there would be something on both sides. Carved 4 Santas/Christmas trees, 4 snowmen and 4 nomes or sa the little GD says, Fun Santas.Just finished another standing angle for the little bride and she will display it Christmas time with the other one.

Your carvings are really good! I have done a couple of the ornaments. They are pretty fun to do for a short project. I really enjoy having the patterns - saves some time.
Keep up the quaility carving Coffeeman!

Ornaments are fun and a way to relax from a more tedious project. There will be a few more patterns in the holiday issue of WCI, but till then you can get a couple more patterns at http://www.lancarvers.com/patterns.html
