Good grief, Bette, your work is outstanding!! Thanks for your compliments on my work - it means even more when it comes from outstanding artists like yourself and Nancy.

Hey, Nancy, get back to work (but thanks for telling people to look at my stuff ) I continue to be amazed at your work, as well....goodness, how long did it take you to carve your latest?

Teri

Thanks Teri for taking a look and the nice compliments.
That Nancy does amazing work, does she not?! But we just have to nag, nag, nag her to keep her knife to the wood!!! (Gotcha, Nancy!!)
I sure wish I could paint like you and Nancy. I have had a piece carved and ready for paint for 3 weeks, and working on painting it for 3 more, and it still isn't done. I just keep screwing it up more and more!
I am running out of time.
Bette

Teri - I'm not certain which Santa you mean ??? That 'Scenic Santa' I put up a few days ago was done about 2 years ago and it went pretty quickly. It's a simple shape and I paint a LOT faster than I carve......maybe because I started painting in the late '40s and didn't start carving until the late '80s . At that rate I should be a fast carver around 2030............think I'll make it? :

Thanks, Nancy - I hadn't seen the Scenic Santa - he's wonderful - he reminds me of the Russian santa carvings I've seen. I was talking about the white guy holding baby with animals all around - it really took my breath away. How long did it take you to carve him?

You're an amazing artist.

Teri
