| I found this web site today about a Santa carver that I thought you all might like to see. His Santas are real neat; however, I was mostly attracted to his walking staffs. Although he live in Brazil he seems to head up to Gatlinburg, TN once in a while. There's a video or two out there as well Almost Christmas- Hand-made Santa carvings by C. David Snyder You have to check out his awesome walking staffs. I do 3 or 4 santa staffs every year. I told a story to a customer one time about when the children found Santas staff leaning up against the fireplace in the morning. I use real cast brass bells and they would tap the staff near the childrens rooms. Now children watch your Ps & Qs because you know Santa will be back for his staff and he will probably be in disguise and you wouldn't want him to catch you being naughty. Once relatives seen this and heard the story they wanted one also. Now have standing orders for three every year and I try to keep one in the shop. Goody

My mom caught him at a show one year and bought me one of his Santas for me for Christmas. He's sitting on my mantle as we speak. Really neat stuff. They are made from a resin mold after he's carved the original out of wood.

Goody, you rock!!!! I love the fact that you take old bed post's, or old balustrade pieces, or any old piece of discarded wood, and breath life into it with surgical mastery! You are truly original... Those Santa's have that old world look and feel to them. Very Americana!!!
