| | Wayne Shinlever class Wayne Shinlever will be teaching a santa carving class at Woodcraft in Knoxville, Tn the weekend after Thanksgiving. I thought I would let everyone know in case you are looking for something to do besides watch football after your bellies are full. Anyone taken a class from Wayne? I met him at dollywood and he seems to be a very nice man, and from what I have seen from his work he is a great carver. I'm hoping to improve my santa carving skills by taking his class. Hope some others can attend!

| | Re: Wayne Shinlever class Actually, y'all (Mark and Blake) can talk to him personally again - he'll be in Hickory at the Catawba Valley (Hickory) show next weekend. He will give a seminar and be a judge for the caricature category along with Tom Wolfe.
Wayne also won quite a few awards at the CCA event in Dollywood. I believe the same carving that won the WCI Santa Carving Contest was one of the big winners (or one very similar). |

| | Re: Wayne Shinlever class Michael,
You can go to www.woodcraft.com and look for the Knoxville, TN location. It is listed in their "class" section and is the weekend after thanksgiving. I had a chance to talk to Wayne in Dollywood and he seemed like a great guy, and he sure is a great teacher! Let me know if you decide to come down and take it. I can give you some pointers about the area if you need them!
