Default Valentines Day (2/14) Challenge

Lets take a few weeks off from ornaments and think about the next upcoming holiday, Valentines Day.

My challenge request:

Carve something for this holiday and give it away to your spouce, sweetheart, close relative, special friend, its doesn't matter to whom, just make something little that will make someones day feel better, then share your picture and story with us.

Pin, brouch, fridge magnet, charm, key chain holder, .....endless little ideas, but believe me, your item will brighten someones day and create a memory that will last for a long time.

Enjoy, and put your carving talent to work to make another persons holiday something special.

I'm in for working up special little carving and will report back later.

Bill

This is a great idea. I would like to make something for my husband. He is really hard to surprise. If anyone has any ideas or patterns I'd love to see them. I will start searching for an idea today and see what I come up with.

How about the old Arrow through the heart? Made one of those a few years back and it was well received....

Also, instead of a wooden oval link chain, made a chain with interlocking hearts...

I agree with the others...............it's a great idea
Here's what I did some years ago. I cut a heart out on my scroll saw and instead of the traditional "Would you be mine" I spelled it "Wood you be mine" Maybe I'll try something along those lines except this time I'll use a knife instead of the scroll saw

Several Years ago Valentines Day kinda sneaked up on me, and I was left with nothing for my wife of 46 years. I spent the whole night before valentines day in my shop carving. I made a small ball and chain and a heart. I painted the ball black with my name on it, and the heart red with wifes name on it, and the numeral 46. It worked! This challenge is a great idea. I won't forget this year.

Just Beautiful! I have a plan in the works already Been thinking on it for a few weeks I collect Vintage Valentines I am reproducing them...ala my scanner...and wrapping each one super sweet. I have carved 18 small red hearts...little things to carry in your pocket I tucked one into each Valentine and put them in a basket. I am taking them into town with me to hand out to whomever crosses my path. My first stop? The Vol Fire Dept I can't wait to see what everyone does! This is a beautiful and perfectly positive giving idea! A big hug to you for thinking of it! Give and give some more ya'll...it's what it's all about!
