Default Turkey-Day Holiday Carvings

I've posted 3 pictures of my Pilgrim carvings in the members photo gallery.
The patterns are by Harley Refsal but I didn't follow his "flat-plane" style of
carving. I hope my URL link works below.

Thanksgiving.

J.C.,
Nice carvings even without the flat planes.

Here is the pattern for the Thanksgiving carving I am working on.
She is a little Dutch girl holding a small hatchet behind her back; while the turkey is laying his head on her dress and they are looking at each other.

Nice carvings! Unfortunately I don't know what flat plane carving is - could someone explain that one to me please?

Rick, I love your Dutch girl! When she's done could you post the completed piece for us to see?

Not sure these are clear enough to show the difference.
Not Flat Plane on Left; Flat plane on Right.
