Default A Stump of a Pipe.....

As many of you may remember, last year I had a Santa Christmas ornament called the Frosted Over Santa. Well, this year it will be an ornament inspired by the line in The Night Before Christmas that goes," A stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth". I have the first ornament in this year's series pictured on my web site before and after it was painted. I plan to carve a pipe for Santa in each ornament. The pipes will be of various styles. Here's hoping it will be as successful as last year's ornament.
If any of you have a picture of an unusual pipe that I can carve into some of the ornaments, I probably could use some new ideas...especially when late November or early December rolls around. LOL!

That's a neat little Santa Millard. Very cool! Looking forward to seeing more of the series.

Millard,

that's a very nice Santa, but then I think you do a good job on all your carvings.

Thanks for your nice comments!
Blake, I got the idea for the holly from a victorian Christmas card. Tucker and Kenny, I'm glad you like the pipe idea. In these days of political correctness, I wasn't sure if I should portray Santa with a pipe....sorta like portraying him with a joint maybe to some. I got a big order (at least it seemed so to me) from a telephone company, so, I guess this Santa may be well received after all. As I finish the 2008 Santa Onaments, I'll probably post most of them on my web site. Maybe some of the better ones I'll post in my gallery here.

In researching pipes, I found a pipe site that has pictures of pipes from pipe makers from various parts of the world. In case anyone wants to carve a Santa with a pipe of some sort you can get some neat pictures of unusual pipes at
Pipe Index.

Thanks again for your comments.

Nice one Millard. Nice Website too and also your Blog. Really like the addition of the glasses. They really seperate yours from the others. What do you use for lens' in your glasses? Hope it's not a trade secret but understand if it is.
