Well the carving is finished. I was able to get thru it without breaking the nose It isn't perfect but for my 2nd carving I am happy with it and I learned a lot. Time to paint it now. Here are some shots of it in the nude

Thanks for looking and appreciate any feed back.

Corey

congratulations - nice job! I've done some snowmen with a nose "add-on" carved like a carrot. Carve a little "peg" in the end of the carrot that meets the face, and then a little hole in the face to fit the peg of the carrot-end. A little CA glue and viola!

good luck!

-Mark

Thank you Mark. I was able to get the nose finished no problem. I think I will try a seperate nose in the future. Just ready for the painting now.

Snow-folks aren't that easy to carve, the grain change is tricky, but it looks like you handled it quite well... nice little guy!

Looking forward to the paint!

Thanks all for the kind words. I feel lucky that it turned out respectable. I thought a snow man would be easy but due to the grain like Michael says it proved difficult especially for a newbie like me. It was also a lot of wood to remove. Thanks again,
Corey
