You're right the beads do finish it off nicey.
Great smile on the model as well!

<Thread hijack>Everyone should raid the old sewing box and try one, they really are great fun. They are a very nice in the hand carving and the wood carves about the same as a butternut. Holds detail pretty well and they go pretty quickly. I do quite a few myself. Everyone seems to like em, plus now, thanks to Jillsy, they can go on the tree. <Thread hijack end>

i bought some 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 12 inch basswood and turned them on a lathe to make some spools like this, it worked out great. you made some super nice spools here!!!

You're all too kind.

Also, for those who sell or want to sell: There are alot of people who collect vintage spools. These add something unique to their collections. They seem to really like the ones that still have the labels on. Plus, Santa collectors also like them also.
