Default From stand-alone spools to ornaments

OK, I'm hoping I finally did it right. There should be 3 pictures of the spools that I carved and put in the Gallery. Today, I added cherry beads and rusty bell on the bottom. On the top, I glued 2 red and green buttons. So, now instead of being stand-alone, they're tree ornaments. To me, it gives them a finishing touch.

With the bad glare from the flash and a 5 year old who can't stand still, I did the best I can! Now let's see if the pics come up. If not, I give up!

Jillsy, I think your spools are spiffy and the paint job is excellent. Are those just regular thread spools or are they something special?

Great ornaments Jillsy! Coming from someone who tries to keep up with a 3 year old on a regular basis, I understand how you feel about getting them to stand still.

Great work! I'm a big fan! Looking forward to more of your carvings!

Thanks all! Just figured I'd show you something I learned from others after googling it.

That's actually my little Mary holding them for me. No way would I get Nicolai to do it. He just turned 3 and is too much of a spaz to be trusted!

Tucker, these are just normal vintage thread spools. Do they even make wood ones any more? Seems like they're all plastic now-a-days. I had bought some from the Etsy.com site, but they're also sold on Ebay. They're about 2 inches high. I figured the bigger, the better.

I just thrilled that after all these years, I FINALLY learned how to post pics without needing to go to the gallery!
