Default Some Christmas Carvings

I have done a bunch more carvings this Christmas, but these are the leftovers after teachers, my mom and sisters, and numerous others have left the building without being photographed. The seated elves have been very popular.

All are original designs that were inspired by a lot of your carvings I have seen on here, and in WCI. The biggest inspiration for most of them was the shape of the scrap basswood that I found in my shop. The little green seated elf was inspired by my son's "Elf on the Shelf" that has been moving around our house a lot.

Thanks for looking, and comments/constructive criticism welcomed.

Hey Phil - I'm usually not an Elf kind-a-guy but I think you are on to something with these.

comment: Your paint seems to bleed over in spots - perhaps the brush you are using is too large - try using a smaller one or use multiple passes of less paint.

They might be the "left-overs"; but I'd say they're still a pretty good looking bunch of carvings..............
Merry Christmas

Thanks. Ken, you are correct. This was the last of several batches, and I think that I got a bit too much water.
