| | Santa Roughout WIP Here is a Wayne Shinlever roughout that I am working on. I purchased this from Wayne at the Hickory show and am just now getting around to working on it. I hope to have it finished this weekend. Please let me know your thoughts. I still need to detail hair and fur, work on details on the face, and finish the boots and floor. Its been a great project so far...very fun roughtout.
Thanks for giving it a look!

| | Re: Santa Roughout WIP I got my medium, dark, and caucasian flesh colors in yesterday so I am looking forward to see how it turns out also. I just have to remember....scrub the carving first....then paint!

| | Re: Santa Roughout WIP Yeah - that scrubbing part is one I often forget... Then I tell myself the dirt under the paint makes it looked antiqued...of course, I still can't quite convince myself of that...

| | Re: Santa Roughout WIP yep, Scrub scrub, that is what cleans and gets those little wood shavings out of the cuts. Me Like Simple Green. Work wonders and a denture brush. Of course, ya already know that! |

| | Re: Santa Roughout WIP Thank you all for showing an interest in this carving. It's been a fun project! Last night I worked on cleaning up his boots, added hair, beard, and fur. Later today I hope to work on the base and add some detail to his boots. Maybe even get a chance to work on painting him. Thanks for looking!
