Default Santa Head Ornies

These are the last of the Santa Head Ornies that I have left. It is really something as I look at my Christmas tree and see ornies from years gone by, and I can really see some significant improvement in my work.

Thanks for looking! Comments/constructive criticism welcomed.

edit: as I was looking at the pictures I see the eyes look odd (somewhat) and in person they don't look that way, but I use Sparkle Varnish over the eyes and it has glitter in it that picks up extra light off the flash.

You are on the right track Phil. # 1 came out pretty good.

comment: Perhaps the photos are making the flesh colors look a bit pale. Try blending some thinned red paint on the cheeks and nose next time.

Phil; I agree with you on the photos. It seems to me that I have a more difficult time photographing the darn things than I do carving 'em. And as for improving the quality of ones carving............I kept an ornament from each year since I've been carving . Ones that I thought great at the time now seem to have all kinds of room for improvement.......
I guess the longstanding members of this forum knew what they were talking about when they told us new members to " practice, practice, practice.............."

I sure do still need a lot more practice, but they seem to be getting better.
