Default Salvage Value

I was fininshing the detail and cleanup work on an old world santa and lopped off one of his hands. I was sure this was going to be one of my best creations, but who would believe that Santa lost his hand protecting the christmas spirit. Well all was not lost, I cut off his head and made a keychain out of it and gave it to my wife. Now she was certainly flattered that I would take the time and carve her a special keychain, just for her on valentines day. I was going to keep the other half to remind me what a butt I was for gloating in my cudo's, but figured there may be another opportunity to express myself at a latter date so I will keep it as salvage for that special moment.

Sorry to hear and I have dropped a blue gill and broken the tail. So why not just make a new hand and peg it in place like ataching the antlers to a carving? Bob

Okay I think I created a monster. My daughters saw mom's ceychain and now they want one of these 'speciality items'. I guess I will go in my scrap bin and see what I can come up with. Just when you think you botched another one it turns out that beauty is really in the eyes of the beholder. Ya gotta love this hobby. As a kid I use to make ash trays out of all my mistakes, now they are key chains.
