| | Re: Realestic Nativity patterns James -- I have an eleven piece one that's very beautiful. I can't remember how long ago I got it but it's been a LONG time (before PCs and such) and I've never used it.
It's from:
Pat Ficarra
297 Malcolm Ave.
Garfielf, NJ 07026
I hope you can contact Ficarra. If you can't - let me know.

| | Re: Realestic Nativity patterns Hi_Ho_Sliver,
Once again you've done a great job. You must be a fast carver. I'm still working on my first set from Lynn's book. Even though they are fairly easy carvings lately I've been struggling to find the time to work on it. I better kick it in gear though because I plan on donating it to our annual Sacred Heart School fundraising auction coming up this month. I'll post a picture when I get it all done. Oh, and I really like your manger.

| | Re: Realestic Nativity patterns The only problem with carving a set from the book...and its not Lynns fault, its the fault of the publisher....they didn't want to spend the money for pages for each carving, so you have to keep referring back to the first part on the carving of Mary....very inconvenient! But once you do a set (or two lol) it gets much easier and faster. |

| | Re: Realestic Nativity patterns James,
Rossiters Roughouts (from Wichita) used to have a set of roughouts (with photos of finished carvings) for a nativity set. You might check with Trudy to see if they still have it.
Once you get the pattern or roughouts, you might do a search to find photos of completed Anri nativity sets. They are Italian carvings that are absolutely georgeously finished and would make great "go bys" for your carvings. 35 years ago (pre-carving days) I made several ceramic nativity sets so you might find pictures of them through a ceramic shop--and can use them for patterns. And one last idea, David Sabol has lots of animal patterns in his Noah's ark books--you might be able to adapt them to a nativiy set. Just some more ideas.

| | Re: Realestic Nativity patterns Donna is correct, Rossitter's have several different realistic nativity scenes in various sizes and prices. Some you can order by the pieves or whole set.Every roughout they have, have pictures of the finished carving. Some, with front, back and sides.
I think their site has some pictures of their nativity roughouts. www.roughouts.com
Look in the Holiday section.
