Default Ornament Exchange?

I know, its a bit early to start that, but not to early to decide when we want to start! And how we want to handle it this year.....same as last year? Can't remember when we started, but we do need time for people to carve the ornaments and time for the "postal" people to mishandle...any ideas/suggestions? Last year, everyone listed put their name and address on here and we (at least I did) made a list and checked off as we swapped ornaments, I think I had either 13 or 16 on my list last year. This is fun, but we are getting so many on the board, we may not be able to do it this same way for more than a year or so and may have to change to an individual , draw names? type swap?....but thats down the road.....lets have some input here........

I had a great time exchanging ornaments last year, and while trying to keep up with them, I think I improved my ornament carvings.

Maybe we can include more folks if we have a list that "limits"
the quantity of the ornaments you exchange, maybe to two or three, and another list that will send an ornament to each individual on the list that can keep up.
I was a little intimidated last year, but enjoyed it so much when all was said and done, and I have the most wonderful ornaments to show for it all.
Just some thoughts.

Since I am new, can the ornament be from Rick's design? I can probably knock out a few of those and would love to do the exchange?!

OR I might just have to gouge chip carve some... that's a great idea too... brain juices flowing now

i'm in for the swap, i have already gotten a little of a start, but i think we should do it like last year, but if the group wants to do lists i am good with that also,i'm like thor i was very pleased with the trades i made last year.
i think we should wait and start swapping the day after labor day this should give everyone plenty of time to get them carved and sent. i think we started later than last year and some folks were pressed for time with carving for the swap and also carving for Christmas presents.

just my 2 cents

Well, maybe we just use this thread as a warning LOL.....to get ornaments started whenever you can and just put them aside...I have a feeling we will have quite a list this year, maybe not? But if we start carving and stacking them early, we can actually start the list a little later, at least with enough time for the post office to do its thang! I just checked the calendar and I think Bart has a good idea, start on them now, but we will call for a list of those interested the day after labor day Lord willing.
