Here is a little different take on an Old World Style ornament I've been doing since '91. I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures. They were done rather hurridly as we were leaving to deliver this to the daughter. Lots of possiblitlies here. This is basswood, about 5 inches long carved from a 2.25 x2.25 block. The Bishops miter replaces the traditional Santa cap. I've done them many ways. The miter lends itself to embellishment in many forms. Some of the Russian Santas are an example. I always try to make sure the features on both sides line up so both sides are somewhat symetrical. A more modern two faced ornament was entered in this years WCI Santa Contest. Oh, BTW..... Sure hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Ed |

Ed, very creative and very well done. This is the first one of these I've seen and I really like it. Good for you. Cliff |

I was wondering how to paint the back of my Santa ornament! What a neat idea. Thanks for sharing.

ED, I'm more than impressed. Great carving. It was great to see you work on the project last week and then to see it completed, on the forum. I've been practicing on my faces. Wish they would turn out the way I want. I know"Keep pracicing!" I really do want to thank you for your help last week. Keith |
