Joy, I really like your Santa..Nice sharp detail on the face and beard..I haven't developed a style yet either but I am just learning also and I say , do what you enjoy and leave the rest to chance. You are well on your way to making a really big hit.. Charlotte

Susieq, your story about your puppy, Toby, is so funny! I've got a fur baby that loves to steal things while I'm not looking, too!

Nancy, thanks for sharing about your Santa boo-boo. That made me feel better to know you have done something like that a one time, too. I just couldn't believe I screwed this one up not once, but TWICE! Kind of took the wind out of my sails. I'm moving on today....gonna start on a completely different one.

Joy

We all mess up Joy, and way more than just once. There is also that once in a while occurance when the mistake turns out to be "serendepidy" (sp?) which means "happy accident" (I know what it means even if I can't spell it) I have had something go wrong with my plans, only to have it turn out better than originally planned....that is how I stumble on new techniques here and there.
You are making wonderful progress. Keep it up.

Joy don't be sceered to venture out do your own carving, this website is a plethora of carving information and some very ill humor. If you want to create your own santa go for it, your only worst critic will be you.

I really liked your carvings, you did a great job carving them. The one you posted here looks great, I also checked ot a past carving of yours on EBAY. I liked it also.

I dabbled in ebay a bit also be careful there's a lot of crooks out there. Be very careful out there, there's a ton of identity theft out there.

Looking forward to seeing more of your Santas
Mel
