Hey Nancy, great to see your new Santa, it really is terrific! I have tried 'finding' your site a couple times since I talked to you a while back and you were so helpful in advising me about tool selection. This time I added it to my favorites list...twice! Hopefully that will keep me from losing it, still need lots of computer help!! Just don't like to take the time away from carving!
Thanks for the information about selling carvings, I have a list of people who want to buy once I start selling and I only have a rough idea what to sell for. No ways near what you can sell for, maybe knocking off a zero on the end will be closer!!! I've only been at it for twenty months though, so hopefully in ten years I'll be able to bring in a little more....once I get my wheelchair or walker over to my carving table and limber up my arthritic hands!!!
When I started carving my intention was to carve mainly Christmas pieces...I love Santas, especially old fashioned ones. I really didn't expect it to be anything more than a hobby and I'd make myself a few neat things for decoration. Turned out to be a lot more like an obsession than a hobby!
If you'd like to check out my pictures they are at
http://photo.epson.com/ in the Visit Albums box type
callsr@csonline.net the password is Callynne and the album name is My Woodcarvings. I would really love to hear what you think...even if there isn't a Santa in the bunch! Thanks, Callynne
