| | New Carving Pics Posted in Gallery Hi Everybody,
Well, it's been a long time since I've posted pictures so figured it was time to get over my nervousness and do it.
There are 3 carvings of Mrs. Santa Claus. They all are carved from Basswood and stand about 8 inches tall. One holds a wassail bowl, one holds a Nativity, and one holds a baby.
There is also a miniature Santa. He's carved from 1 inch Butternut and is about 3 inches tall. He holds a Colonial Mistletoe Kissing Ball.
Hope you like them!
I've been getting lots of great advice and tips as I go and would like to thank two carvers from this board specifically, Nancy G and Mark Y, for all the extra help they've given me. I've really been learning alot these past few weeks. |

| | Re: New Carving Pics Posted in Gallery Jillsy, those are wonderful! I especially liked the one of Mrs. Santa holding the nativity. How on earth did you carve something that small? And I must say, I'm jealous of your painting skills. I really fall short in that department. Again, wonderful work. I sure enjoyed viewing them. ~ Joy |

| | Re: New Carving Pics Posted in Gallery Thank you! Encouragement always gives a boost of confidence.
Joy, I've been carving mini Santas for a while, so it came in handy carving the nativity. I also used super fine blades!
Thanks again for the comments to all,
Jill |
