I carved Santas for friends in Brisbane Australia and they always wanted the traditional Heavy, Red suited Santas. Course they were originally from Texas so may be a different in what they wanted.

Chuck:
Go to Google, and enter keywords surfing santa and then go to the upper left corner and click on images. Hundreds of them...

...assuming this is what you meant by "boomer" http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_tnw4GOtd6R...ta-Cover-1.jpg

claude- thanks-- a "boomer" is a kangaroo-- ( he goes boom when he hits the ground) santa even has 6 tiny boomers on his sleigh--lol -- i did some searches for "australian" santas and found a few that arent what we are used to here- this santa is for an australian exchange student that lived with me in the 80's. we have maintained contact and he asked for a xmas ornament-- he often spends xmas day on the patio with the "barbie" i did find one pic of santa riding a kanga-- and may do that. just looking for a few ideas before i start-- its amazing how to countries can be seperated by a common language

G' day Chuck, Yes Santa is the same as it is in your neck of the woods. If you can get a copy of Rolf Harris song called Six white boomers, this will explain more about the origin of the boomers. They are kangaroos, You may get a small flag with the boxing kangaroo on it from a tourist shop or you may try talking to the Austrailian embassy and they should have some sort of picture of one, if that fails try your local library for a book on Australia.

Hope this helps.
Yours kevin

Thanks for the u- tube chuck. I was thinking the same as Jillsy, never heard that one before. Now I understand what boomers are. (At first I was thinking of boomerangs)

Ah! This one is what I was thinking of when you said "boomer" Boomer Beach, San Diego County, California

I lived near there for about 30 years.

Now that I've have my language lesson here's one I found
