I received the Myron Bowman Santa book when I signed up with WCI. This is the first Santa I have tried out of the book. I think it is turning out pretty good. Still needs quite a bit of detail work and some work on the gloves. FYI....I started using an old faithful like Lynn....he's made me a believer in using a box cutter. Nice fresh cuts...you should give it a try!!!! Blake |

A CONVERT!!!!! I love it!!! I'm thinking of coming out with a Limited Edition Signature version. Haven't come up with a price yet. They'll be expensive though.....at least $2.00. Nice work Blake.

Lynn, I will take 3 of them with extra blades....I need to downgrade as the handle on mine is a little bulky...haven't had a chance to go to Walmart yet, but plan on going this weekend to see if I can find one that fits my hand! Thanks for sharing! Blake |

Blake....This is important...When buying a Boxcutter make sure you get one that DOES NOT have a retractable blade. This feature makes the knife UNSAFE! I've only been able to find one style handle where the blade locks in between the two halves of the handle but that's the one you want. It's a metal handle...Stanley 10-299. The blade size you want is Stanley 1992. Lock the blade on it's second notch so you get the most length. Give it a few stropes and you're in business. When I go to garage sales or flea markets I always keep my eye out for the old style of handle. They are more comfortable than the new one. Also, wouldn't recommend using that smaller knives with the snap-off sections. They would also be unsafe because of the breakoff possibility.

Lynn, hope I haven't alienated myself.........where did you find that non-retract handle.....I've been looking for one for a while for yard work, but that seems great for carving, too. Al |
