Default My Shawn Cipa style carvings

I've created a new album with some carvings from one of the Shawn Cipa
books. I really like his style of carving and the books he's published.
Some have criticized his use of squintting eyes in his carvings but I think it gives them a unique look.

I've attached one of my favorites below. I really appreciate the chance
to share some of carvings this forum offers. Thanks WCI.

I also have that book, and you've represented those carvings and yourself very well... those are very nice.

Great work! Thanks for posting!

The little bride bought Cipa's Nativity book for me but I have not tried to carve anything from it. There are several carvers who uses the squinty technique on their carvings and I believe it adds to the facial expression also. I know sopme of you know Greg(owlhause) and his Santas are great with the squinty eyes. Love seeing his also. Which reminds me, we are you Owl?
Great work JC!

Squinting eyes are unique and I like them too! I've been using them a lot lately with some very small carving and I just might use them more with the larger ones.

That's one nice Santa! Keep it up.
