I am getting ready to teach carving mini- Christmas tree ornaments. These will be carved from 1/2 x 1/2 inch Basswood; and be any where from 3/4 inch to 1 1/2 inch long. I currently have several patterns for Santa's and snowmen; but would like to have some additional ideas and/or patterns. Can anyone direct me to some of the other ideas, patterns or pictures? I recently saw a mini evergreen tree that was carved/whittled in the round from 1/2 x 1/2 stock that looked great. Thanks! Tom H |

Tom: Take one of your ear ring santas, remove the mustache, add pointy ears coming through the hair, and paint the hat green, and you'll have an elf! Claude |

I'm with Claude, how about an Elf holding himself tight to his hat with striped legs hanging down wards into pointy shoes? The eyes hidden into the hat, but a big ol nose and ears sticking out? I've seen somewhere on the net a long skinny santa with hands way up, holding on to the hook for hanging.. feet dangling. How about a mouse hanging from the hook or candy cane? Its going to be fun to see what you come up with..thats for sure. ![]() Marcia |
