Mark,

Really nice job, can see why the wife grabed it first, thats a special previlage they all have. I've been going through Marks steps and am going to tackle one myself, love the style, especially in the facial features and beard. Explain to me the triangle formate for the blank? or maybe Mark G. can explain it to us. Bill

As Mark Gargac did I took a 3"x3"x5" block and split it down the middle, leaving 2 triangle shaped pieces 5" long and then carved the face on the corner.

Did you also hollow out the back like Mark recommended?

Blake:
Yes I hollowed out the back that lets you carve through in some spots.
