| | Re: Lunch Time Ornament MDWine,
No, the nose is a wood button available at craft or some hardware stores.
The one I used was called 3/8", meaning it required a 3/8" hole to install it.
It could have been carved, but would not be very strong and the stock would need to be thicker to start with.
The best way to discover what you can do with paint is to run a series of tests on scrap.
Bob,
I realized later I had forgotten to set my camera for the type of lighting before taking the pictures. That makes a big difference; I shouldn't get in a hurry when taking pics.

| | Re: Lunch Time Ornament Rick I dont know if this will help but Coffeeman gave me the neatest thing to try on my painting and I love the effect it gives me. What he advised me to do is mix my acrilic paint with Polycrilic instead of water I love the effect it gives the paint. I use this method to do all my painting now.BTW l love the ornament.

| | Re: Lunch Time Ornament To All:
Here is the pattern, I drew it myself.
(the sketch on the right is my original), so feel free to use it.
Please let me know if this prints full size on your printers.
The wood is 1/2" thick and the nose is a 3/8" wood plug.

| | Re: Lunch Time Ornament Actually Bob,
I carve them because they are simple and fast; but "neat and original" sounds good too. |

| | Re: Lunch Time Ornament Only thing I can say is they are OUTSTANDING Rick. Love the difference in the colorings and the second one with the texture beard is neat. |
