Default Little Santa (Gene Style)

I've been studying Gene's style of carving and tried to apply what I know about his carvings to a Santa I used the pattern he supplied on his first tutorial and left a little extra wood for the beard.

I'm going to try another one, but this is what I came up with on my first try. He's about 3" tall and carved from a 2x2 piece of wood.

Thanks for the inspiration and for being a great teacher and friend Gene!!

Thanks for looking!

Blake

Blake, Nice lookin little Santa, and bald too. Bald works on (for) me. That's a great adaptation of Gene's pattern and style. Adaptation goes only so far, cause I can still your own style too. Don't forget to post when painted..Tom H

Thumbs up Re: Little Santa (Gene Style)

Blake ... he is really cute ... But you sure dont have to be told how to carve Santa's .. your's are great .. I know .. I have had a close encounter with several of them .. I could learn alot from you ..

Blake old friend ... you do a great job no matter what you carve ..

I know he's going to look good when he's painted ..

Great job ..

Gene

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Even though I like your other Santas, You represented Gene's style real good. I think you made gene proud.
