Thanks Mark, for your inspiration for the Santa ornaments. Your postings of your Ornaments and tutorials have done more for the ornament carvers than anything else, in a long time. The "hooks" that I use are called "eye pins". They are very inexpensive, and are available at Hobby Lobby, Michaels. Look for them in the jewerly making supplies. I've seen them in black nickel, stainless steel, and silver. A bagg of 16 will cost under $2.00. They are about 2 inches long, and I cut them down and just push them in with small plyers. The beads are from the same stores. Most are glass, and very inexpensive.

Thanks again.

Thanks folks for looking and commenting on this last batch of Santa's for the year. And to Shannon, for maybe the gentle prod to try something else. But, but! if one leaves a beard and long hair off, one must carve mouths, chins. lips, and ears.....Egads! Thanks again.

Thanks Tom for the information on the hooks and glass beads and for your comments on my ornaments and tutorials. It makes it all really worth it knowing folks can pick up a few of your carving techiques, experment with them, and work them into carvings of thier own.

Great job, Tom. That is what I call getting the most out of your wood....so small, didn't you go crosseyed trying to carve those faces??? I often throw away scraps of wood larger than that....guess I need to hold on to them and make something out of them.
