| | Labor Day Carving ??? Well I finally got a weekend off after about three weeks of 12 hour shifts. Saturday was repair stuff around the house and chores. Sunday Opened the shop and ran some blanks and got two of them carved.
Today I fired up the smoker and threw a pork shoulder in there. Since you need to tend to a smoker all day it was a good day to carve. Started carving at 9am and came in the house at 8pm only stopping for lunch and dinner(pulled pork, and coleslaw).
Next Sunday is the Catonsville Art Festival. At least now I have something to show. Anna finished some gourds and has been working hard on an old furniture piece that we restored and she painted. I told her to enter it in the judging and I won't enter a santa this year. I have won ribbons at this festival every year I have entered.
At least todays Labor was something I like doing.

They look great! Nice way to spend a day. Had to take my son back to school. He is in WVU so was a rush day. Catonsville this comming Sunday. Time to con the wife and see if she would like a road trip.
I finished a staff this weekend, for a gift so I can't post pics, but Goody you would love it.

It has no bumpers !
Wade ,
All things considered , after last week the insurance companies will probley all be broke! But you know considering 9-11 raised my rates by about 200 percent , I would guess Kitrina will send them up about 1000 percent. So like everyone else in 6 months I won't be able to afford insurance.
Wow scary thought but probley true. |

| | Re: Labor Day Carving ??? Well all the Santas that I carved on Labor Day are ready for the show tommorow. Anna fit the painting of the Santas in, even though she was working on painting a piece of furniture for the show. This old writing desk came in to our shop water damaged and one leg broken off and some of the hardware was missing. This is how its going to the show tommorow. We have also just struck up a deal with Eldreth Pottery and We will be mixing some of thier Santas with ours. Tom Comes out with a new Santa every year as I do. I trade the lumber mill Santas for wood every year. His wife collects Santas. Chris asked me if I had ever seen Tom Eldreths Santas and the rest is history.
