Default The Jen Claus

I carved this at the request of my neighbor who wanted a Santa, surrounded by animals found in our backyard, for his wife. Santa is feeding the chipmunk a peanut and the rabbit is eating on the trumpet vine. Hummingbird and Monarch Butterfly complete the wildlife. It is painted to match their color scheme. Merry Christmas everyone.

Absolutly fabulous carving well thought out and excellently done. How big is the carving and what is it carved from? Just curious I know your neighbor will love it I know I would .

Thanks everyone. Jennifer recieved her Santa early and she likes it. It is 12" tall and I carved it out of wet white pine. I haven't used wet pine often, but it carves real nice if it is still wet. I got the wood free, well not really free, a storm blew the pine tree over last summer in our yard, so I had to pay the tree guy to clean up the mess. I did get a lot of wood out of the deal, but I guess it wasn't really free. It is painted with oils mixed with minwax.

That is a very good Santa. I especially like the beard and the colors are nice.
