On the back cover of the latest issue of Chip Chats, there is a feature about ornaments carved by a Peter Padua(sp?). I had some family visiting from Kentucky for the holiday, and my aunt commented about how she liked the hummingbird featured. So I went down to my basement workshop, freehanded a pattern onto a piece of scrap, and cut it out on the scrollsaw. An hour later, it was completely whittled and painted. The bill is a toothpick. I will probably do some of the other ornaments featured in the article.

Those very small, round headed push pins make great eyes for hummingbirds I take the pin, put a hole in both sides (hopefully where they are supposed to go ha ha) and cut off all but about 1/4 in of the pin and put that in the hole with some glue, works great for hummer eyes. I forgot.....take a small gouge and make a little recess for the eye socket first, then do the above sorry, crs disease!
