Default Holiday spoon

Hi all, I call this spoon a holiday spoon because I think it could be fore Christmas or Easter. It is 8x3" made from butternut and finished with waterbased poly, and feed &wax. comments welcome.

Nice spoon Feb, would butternut be good for a usable spoon if it was oiled properly? I have a large piece here and am planning on trying some spoons after Xmas is over.

Thanks all for your kind cimments. I'm not sure what to put on it but it would be good. I know to water proof itthey use gel varnish and minerial spirits, but that doesn't sound good for an eating spoon.
