| | Goody Hey Goody ,
Still working on it but thought I would give you an update , I know how much you like progress reports.
Design is finished for the basswood and should look great when finished , but since I didn't want to do a lot to that worked a while on Santa.

| | Re: Goody Thanks Kathy,
Wasn't thinking about Christmas , really , but Goody gave me a roughout on Sat. and before I lock up into another week long project. It has been a lot of fun working on this. Still trying to decide if I will finish it before I start the next relief carving but i promise it wil be very ( ) unique when it is finished.

| | Re: Goody Ash,
Looks good for only having it a day or two. I like seeing someone carve my blanks with eyes. My customers have dictated that I don't change my santas from a folkart style to a more realistic style and you know what they say the customer is always right. I am almost afraid to ask but, where you going with the excess wood at the top. By the way, You asked if I heard from Kay in Indiana! She called Saturday She's Out of Santas.
Signing out, Gotta go Carve, See ya,
Goody

| | Re: Goody Told you you needed more ! Glad they are going so well, I was sure they would be a big hit.
Ok , since you asked , right now it is a toss up between a caraousel l around the top , or a drum , I am thinking the caraousel.
I hollowed the inside out and need to correct the slight tapper , but as they say a picture is worth a thousand words so .... should be a nice candle holder !

| | Re: Goody To me it seems that a lot of the well known caricature carvers seem to carve faces that somewhat resemble their own facial features, some built in faulty gene I supose.
But here I see a Goody roughout finished carved by another carver, Ashby, and Gol dang it it sure looks like Goody's face , well at least to me it does, whatya think? .
Maybe it's something in the roughout eh! .
