Default Flying Santa

I like to do large items..This carving is 19 long by 28 wide (wing span). Since a lot of carvers don't have very many, or large tools, it has been designed , and redesigned ,for the "novice" to carve. I asked two people to carve one, gave them the wood, and minimal instructions...Both said they couldn't do something that large. Once we were able to work out a hold down, they started carving and are having a ball.. I included a Santa picture. He is doweled to his bottom half ( makes for easier carving).Since wood size can be a problem,.I asked a company that supplies cut outs, if they would be interested in supplying precut blanks. So,if you see a bunch of flying loons with Ohio tags on them, I gave a carving class...

Looks like a fun Santa project. The Santa face came out great - I'd love to see more from you some day
