Default Elves 2 and 3

Wow, Patrick and Kathy were right, these guys are addictive. Here are my second and third elves. At this rate I will have a whole herd of these little men for Christmas and I will definately need treatment of some kind. Do they allow sharp knives in the funny farm? Probably not eh?

Elf No 3 didn't turn out as well as I hoped and the wood I was using had some staining on the one side that I couldn't get rid of but I was pleased with Elf No 2. I'm calling him Richard because he looks so regal but also because of his hat. Some of my more irreverant fly fishing friends made fun of his hat calling him the short form of Richard. I didn't intend it to look quite like that, I just meant him to have a floppy hat, honest.

Anyway, here they are for your viewing pleasure, amusment and comments and thanks again for all your kind words and support of my previous work

Elliott

Having too much fun for an old guy.

ps: I have one more elf blank to go before I start on Wood Spirits.

Hey Elliott, I love your elves and they certainly have their own character expressions. I like the way you painted them too. Oh and as for treatment we who carve these elves and I'll add santa's are all hopeless--I haven't found a cure yet and don't want too. lol

Sorry for the unseasonal posting. I guess with minus 15C here in Ontario tonight it's feeling more like Xmas than Spring. It's all that groundhog's fault!

Actually, I am new to both carving and message boards (this is the only one I have been on) so I'm still feeling my way around, where to post stuff and find things etc so thanks for cutting me some slack (with a sharp knife I hope).

I'm not sure my Wood Spirits could match your fence post guy though Forrest, you did a great job on him. I can just see you sitting in some farmer's field whittlin' away on his posts while all the cattle are looking over your shoulder.

Elliot, you can carve circles around me as well as you did on your elves. I smiled reading your thoughts of some cows watching me carve a old farmers fence post!! You just keep up your good work buddy and Im looking forward to more of your carvings. Forrest
