| | Re: Egg Santa ByGeorge! Very Very Nice! You've done a great job on his eyes. The crow's feet wrinkles at the corner add a wonderful touch and your coloring is great. It's hard for me to think this is your first egg carving Santa.

| | Re: Egg Santa Kathy, only tools used were a few Ramelson V-Tools and a Denny detail knife (from Rick). I really enjoyed doing the egg because you don't have to worry with hands and feet!
Susan, thanks for your kind words. This is my first egg although I have done some other caricatures (I put another full Santa in the Carver's Galleries). I read a lot and study other people's work. The painting methods came from WCI's Painting and Finishing Guide article by Michele Carville.
Bob, "what ya see is what ya get"! Thanks for the compliments.

| | Re: Egg Santa An absolute wonderful carving it has so much character and I agree with Susan the eyes have it, they have what I call so much sole. Just checked out your full Santa and he is even better you have a very distinct style. Excellent carving we will look forward to see more from you. As far as I am concerned you could make a living at Santa carving.

| | Re: Egg Santa Frank, thanks for your kind words! I must say that I really do enjoy doing the Santas more than anything else I have carved. Every time I finish one, I just have to set back and smile or laugh when I look at them.
