Default A Couple of Santa Wooden Spoons

As a carver in this forum gave me the advise to buy wooden spoons in a Chinese store, I bought these two in a nearby Chinese store and carved a Santa face in them. Rats! The wood (especially the darker sppons) was very hard to carve and the painting almost impossible . Although I had the surface "sandpapered". Dino

they came out nice, but, carve your own spoons and make them what you want. Been carving spoons for years, and lots of spoon exchanges around. Can make out of most woods available. (sorry don't like anything Chinese)

It sounds like you had a hard time but the results were worth it. They came out very good.

For being difficult wood you did a really nice job on them! If my daughter saw them, see would love them, because her name is Natalie, even though she wasn't born in December.
