Default Cotton Wood Bark Santa

I bought this 19" long piece of bark from Mr. Jenkins two years ago at his class at Wood Congress show/class. Got inspired and made a Santa. Didn't like what it did to my knives but bark is fun to carve. Critiques are invited and welcome.

Yes, bark can play havoc on knives and gouges. I have my bark knives and then I have my carving knives. ly, Gouges are used on both.

sorry..you boys are in the wrong part of the country, I have been doing cottonwood bark 38yrs and no problems with sand. the problemo I do have is that a lot of it is so smooth as butter, sometimes I bite into the bark, not the the butter.... good tho....not sandy!!!!!
