Default Christmas Tree Ornaments from bark.

Here's a few of my 2008 tree ornaments. They were intended as gifts but the wife came first. Have any of you carved ornaments from bark? I have posted more "Hobbitats" on my gallery. Please browse.

Thumbs up Re: Christmas Tree Ornaments from bark.

Great work Pracuss Thumbs Up , I have done a number of these as gifts and they sell very well. What did you use for a finish?

My favorite work lately seems to be "adorable". But these definitely are adorable.

They are great. What a neat idea and so unique. I love them and never thought about using bark this way.

Carl. Thanks for your intrest. The finish is Meltonian Shoe cream. The snow is Acrylic Gouache by Jo Sonja's. I like using the shoe creams. A couple of coats and a little buffing. No muss- no fuss.

Keoma, Give it a go. Let me see when your're finished. Ever carve any Redwood out there? Wonder how thick their bark gets?
