| | Christmas spoons finally done... I know, I'm running a little behind this year, but the ones I hand delivered were completed on time. Some won't be delivered until this summer. The first one is a unique spoon I did for my wife (Johan Amrud's design). The second is a "Golden Panther" for my daughter who is a freshman at Pitt (my design), and the others are a sample of the 15 I give to my family and friends (Shirley Adler design). The first two are quarter-sawn Alaska Yellow Cedar with a Danish oil finish, waxed with Briwax. The others are butternut, walnut, mahogany, basswood and lacewood, all with Danish oil finish follwed by Briwax. Now, if I would just get started on the 2007 spoons, I might have them finished before Christmas. Mike |

| Ahhh, yes, Amrud's spoon pattern #42! (Of course, I had to look it up in Amrud's OWNT book!) The spoons look fantastic, Mike! Acanthi are on my list to do--hopefully soon! I'm itching to get at one!
Thanks for the pics! |

The one you did for your wife is perfect!

Just Carving Bob, below are three more of Amrud's spoons. The one on the left is pattern #90 (right side) carved from cherry, the second is pattern #82 (right side) carved from mahogany, and the third is pattern #90 (left side) carved from walnut. All were finished with tung oil and Briwax. These spoons are curved and have a hanging hook on the back so you could hang them from the rim of the pot. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
