Pretty cool site!
Thanks Carver Boy!
I've never tried any chip carving, might have to give it a try. I sent off for their newsletter, we'll see what happens.

This is great. After spending hours, weeks, even years searching the net for USEFULL carving information, I finally arrived here and have found more site in the first week than I have since starting to carve in1998
Thank-you W.C.I.

My wife would like me to carve a Manger Scene for Christmas. Has anyone out there done one or know where I might get a pattern?
Thanks Boom

Donna Hefty has a book called 'A Folk Carved Nativity' published by Schiffer Publishing (610-593- 1777) or, I got my copy at Woodcraft. This is a very well done book. Good carving techniques, full instructions on painting, a list of paint colors, 14 full sized patterns, and lots of color photos. I did the whole thing in about 3 months but, then, I'm slow.
