I think it is the highest complement that any crafter or artist can recieve. So often our families are 'use' to seeing our art. What we create becomes every day common stuff ... because in our homes it is every day common stuff.

My Mike so seldom responses to what I am working on any more. And after living with it for 30 years, why would he. He's seen that, watched that, done that all before. The poor begger is up to his ears in "Susan's stuff" and has been forever.

So, in my experience, when one of our family suddenly stops and takes notice of what we are doing it's because we are really doing Something Right ... right enough that this time we reached beyond the every day common stuff.

And she, my good friend, wants you to carve her bragging rights that she can give to her family .... The highest of complements there, Good Sir!

Susan

Susan,

For me , it is still a shock to hear my faimly say they want a carving , even more so when they want it as a gift. I was told that my sons have both asked for carvings from me for Christmas , and that is even more of a shock. So yes I am honored and yes , they will get the finest carvings I can produce for them.

Of course with me ,,, they might be used for firewood

Garry

Quit selling yourself short. I think anyone would be proud to have one of your carvings.

Ash, is this the first time your sons have asked for carvings? The fact that they want one is the best compliment ever!

I gotta teach my Dad to woodcarve so he could carve me something!
