| | Carving a Leg Lamp Hey everyone,
Another poll! We've been thinking of doing an article on carving the leg lamp featured in the movie "The Christmas Story"... The one the guy wins and puts in his front window and his wife is horrified!
We've got an internal battle going on here at the office between the people who think it is silly and those of us who think it is hysterical...so I thought I would give you all a chance to vote.

| | Re: Carving a Leg Lamp That was a hilarious part of the movie! I just don't know how it got broke. hehehe
I would like to carve a smaller version of it. Maybe a 12" or 15" version. But it would have to include the stockings.

| | Re: Carving a Leg Lamp Bob,
It would seem you have a strange taste in movies and artifacts!! Now if it were an object from one of the truly great Xmas films (Christmas Vacation) then I would have to agree... |

| | Re: Carving a Leg Lamp i dont think anything having to do with art and woodcarving is silly if it is done in good taste then i see nothing wrong with it. even the leg can be an art form.

| | Re: Carving a Leg Lamp I got a kick out of that lamp, but it's not something I'd do! Now the whole body to go with it...ya! Make a great figurehead for a ship!

Bob D.............
In my opinion if you want subject matter for an article or series of articles, maybe even a book, how about a how-to on textures and setting a scene, small animal techiques, ect, as done by Nancy G of this board. Her scenes, Santas and critters are second to none. |

To be honest, this was more of a tongue-in-cheek poll...
