Susan, did you mean you did the weaving on the basket? Now I'm really extra amazed--your a weaver too! I love your snow men and I bet it's one colorful addition to your Christmas decorating. What fun a pattern for us to use too?

Kathy,

Yep, the basket too. The joke here in the studio is that I have done just about every craft or hobby except stained glass. But over the years the number of hobbies I indulge in are down to about a dozen ... in no particular order ...

1. gourds
2. crochet (I love those stupid pineapple doilies your grandmother use to make)
3. knitting (usually about 6 pair of knee high socks a winter)
4. quilting (three in the works and one in the hoop)
5. counted cross stitch (Christmas Ornaments)
6. needlepoint (but no patiences for petti-point)
7. scrapbooking (it's more fun to make the pages then to put in the photos)
8. fanny basket weaving (that's my hot summer days craft)
9. gardening (when younger I use to do shelves full of jellies, relishes and vegie canning)
10. carving and more carving
11. pyrography
12. and of course my painting - oil, acrylic, colored pencil ... hate watercolors!)

Oh, and I also do genealogy or as they say in this area I collect dead people and stamp collecting because of the fun of having all those tiny bits of art work.

So ... there's the secret as to why I probably will never carve a great master piece. There are so many things I get into that I never want to commit a long time (three to six months) to just one thing. That would drive me crazy.

Susan

Now I'm really, really, really impressed girl!
OK let's see my hobbies (*)
*1. gourds
*2. crochet (I love those stupid pineapple doilies your grandmother use to make)
3. knitting (usually about 6 pair of knee high socks a winter)
4. quilting (three in the works and one in the hoop)
5. counted cross stitch (Christmas Ornaments)

*10. carving and more carving
*11. pyrography
*12. and of course my painting - oil, acrylic, colored pencil ... hate watercolors!)
*Gouache, I hate watercolors too although gouache is opaque watercolor. I don't really include them in the same medium. Nor do purist watercolorist! Snork....

*Oh, and I also do genealogy or as they say in this area I collect dead people and stamp collecting because of the fun of having all those tiny bits of art work.

Looks like we have a love of some wonderful crafts.
Kathy
