Default Callyanne's Witch

I was lucky enough to get to see this carving first hand. What a great carving. Just look at the face. Couldn't have captured a better expression. Everywhere you look on this carving you will find the utmost attention to detail. I have been waiting for October to come along to post these pictures.
Great Carving Deborah!!!

Goody, thank you for posting the pictures, I'm so glad you like her!! As for the face.....remember how I always say for reference to look in the mirror! Yep, looks just like me!

Thomp, the entire piece is 7 1/4" tall. Her face is about 5/8".....love doing detail!! Thanks again for the compliments! Deborah

Hey Deborah, I was just wondering how long a piece like this takes you? I can't even imagine.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I'm glad you like her!

Jillsy, a carving that size takes me about a week. The cloud and moon are all one piece, the witch is carved separately and then pegged and glued in place.

Mel, not the Mother-in-law, self portrait all the way! Deborah

Nice job on the carving and the painting. The hands and face look life like in color. Is your color mix for the skin a secret or are you willing to share?
